Experience & Philosophy
The daughter of a fashion writer and an architect, I grew up surrounded by beauty, intentionality, and an appreciation of the structural principles that create stunning and enduring design. My Manhattan upbringing nurtured my sense of balance between the aesthetic and the practical, which has made me a confident and admired curator of my own wardrobe since my teenage years — and an in-demand costume design professional in New York, Los Angeles and on location since 2007. I’m a member of the I.A.T.S.E Local 892 The Costume Designers Guild and USA Local 829 United Scenic Artists.
In my work as an Assistant Costume Designer in the Film and Television Industry, I draw on the visual foundations of my undergraduate training in Art History (B.A. Trinity College, 2005). My job is to create a visual identity for each character that reflects who, when, and where they are. The projects I work on have been acclaimed for their creativity and authenticity, due in large part to the comprehensive visual vocabulary of the teams I work with. I’m grateful to collaborate with so many distinguished peers and mentors, and I’m proud of the work we’ve done — see below!
My experience dressing a wide variety of characters for over 15 years affords me a nuanced perspective when assessing the needs of clients. I excel at understanding who you are, what you need from your wardrobe, and how you can dress to reflect your personality, purpose, and potential.
